The Mystery of Marie Roget

A classic whodunit-style mystery, adapted from the Edgar Allan Poe short story, itself based upon a real 19th Century case. The audience is invited to match wits with Poe's alter-ego, mystery writer and amateur sleuth C. August Dupin, as he investigates the baffling murder of a beautiful young socialite in 1841 New York City.

Dupin must distinguish clues from red-herrings as he interviews witnesses and suspects, without benefit of modern forensic technology. Could the crime be connected to events from Dupin's own past?

Originally produced in 2005 at the River Theater in Astoria.

3 male, 2 female actors. Single unit set.
